Complaints about lost letters and packages are increasing
The German Federal Network Agency received 25% more complaints about Deutsche Post and other logistics service providers in the first three quarters of 2024 compared to the previous year. While 31,700 complaints about missing letters or packages (90% of which were directed at DHL) are relatively low compared to the billions of shipments being sent, it can be assumed that not all affected parties file official complaints.
Amazon discontinues Fresh in Germany and starts cooperation with Knuspr
In early November, Amazon launched a partnership with Knuspr, allowing Prime members in Berlin to order groceries online with delivery within three hours. The service will also be available in the Rhine-Main area and the Greater Munich area in the coming months.At the same time, the company's own grocery delivery service "Fresh" will be discontinued in Germany on December 14th. The decision follows an evaluation of the service and a strategic realignment, with Amazon planning to focus on non-perishable groceries in the future.
The state of eGrocery in Europe
Strategy& has published a market analysis of the European e-grocery landscape, which shows that after an initial boom and subsequent slowdown, the e-grocery sector in Europe expects strong growth in 2024. While some efficiency-oriented providers in Germany are successful, other quick-commerce providers had to exit the market due to profitability issues. The new cooperation between Amazon Fresh and the Rohlik Group confirms and reinforces these market trends.

The HubDay 2024 in Hamburg proved once again to be an excellent platform for exchange and innovation in the logistics industry. Next to panel discussions, creative impulses, workshops, and exciting networking opportunities, our Co-Founder Marian-Maximilian Martens was able to convince an expert jury and the audience alike with a live pitch and win the Logistics Hidden Champions Award 2024 – handed over by Hamburg's First Mayor Peter Tschentscher.

We’ve launched our AI assistant that helps import bookings from various sources. For example, creating bookings from free-form emails or parsing PDF documents with different structures using a single assistant capable of extracting relevant data from all of them.
