📢 Industry news
Tchibo and Lieferando launch new express delivery service
Lieferando and Tchibo are launching a pilot project for the rapid delivery of Tchibo products from 14 stores in Berlin and Hamburg. Customers can choose from 800 products that will be delivered within 60 minutes. Lieferando aims to expand its position as an "all-purpose deliverer" for everyday products, while Tchibo seeks to reach additional online target groups.
By the way: You can get the software to launch similar delivery services from MotionTools.
Investment decline in logistics: optimization even more important
Venture capital investments in logistics startups have drastically decreased according to a McKinsey analysis, with only 0.8% of total VC investments attracted in 2023. A large portion of the remaining risk capital is still flowing into the last-mile sector. In this challenging environment, process optimization and cost savings, through modern software, are becoming even more crucial for logistics companies.
Reflections on the future of urban logistics
Growing e-commerce demand and rising customer expectations are making the last mile the bottleneck of the supply chain, leading to increased costs and burdens on personnel and traffic. Despite various innovative approaches such as electromobility, automation, and drones, Prof. Dr. Gernot Liedtke still sees no comprehensive solution for the challenges of urban logistics.
✅ Best practices
Import and validate bookings quickly and easily
In a new tutorial, Patrick demonstrates how external data can be easily imported into MotionTools, enabling all processes to run digitally, optimized, and in some cases even fully automated, thus relieving dispatchers.
